Metrick Earns CoSIDA NCAA DII Academic All-District Honors

BUCKHANNON – Junior relief pitcher Chris Metrick (Beckley, W.Va./Woodrow Wilson) of the West Virginia Wesleyan baseball team has been named to the 2017 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) NCAA II Academic All-District II Team.

Metrick, a computer science major with a 3.77 cumulative grade-point-average, advances to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second-, and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.

Metrick currently owns a 5-0 record with eight saves as the Bobcat closer. He has an earned-run-average of 2.32 in 31 innings of work.

Metrick was one of 11 players to be placed on the Academic All-District Team and one of four Mountain East Conference players.
