When the Don Hansen NCAA Division II All-America Team was released this weekend, both Anderson and Weems were on the squad again.
Anderson (left) was tabbed for Third Team honors while Weems (right) was selected to the Honorable Mention Team.
Anderson, a native of Elkridge, Md. rushed for 1,417 yards and 12 touchdowns during the 2016 season.
He also led Wesleyan in receptions this past year with 40 and had 299 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
He led the MEC in rushing and was sixth in the country in rushing yards.
Anderson had seven 100-yard rushing games on the year, including a league-best 237 against Concord in September.
Including being a nominee for the Harlon Hill Award, Anderson was named the Mountain East Conference Offensive Player of the Year and named to the All-MEC First Team.
He was also named to the D2CCA All-Super Region 1 First Team, the AFCA Division II Coaches' All-America First Team and the Don Hansen All-Region Team.
Weems, a native of Baltimore, Md. was seventh in the nation in interceptions per game with six in 10 games played and led the MEC in interceptions.
He also added 31 tackles, seven pass break-ups and two forced fumbles and fumble recoveries.
Like Anderson, Weems was an All-MEC First Team selection and was a Second Team selection on the D2CCA All-Super Region 1 Team as well as capturing Don Hansen All-Region honors.
The Don Hansen Division II All-America Team carries out the legacy of long-time small college football advocate Don Hansen, who passed away at age 75 on Aug. 29, 2010. Hansen, from Brookfield, Ill., started and published Don Hansen's National Weekly Football Gazette for three decades, selecting NCAA Division II All-America teams for the first time in 1988.
