BUCKHANNON -- West Virginia Wesleyan's men improved their win streak to three games as the Bobcats took control of the game early and never looked back. Four Wesleyan players posted double digit points on their way to the 84-70 victory.
With the game tied early 15-15, Wesleyan went on a 13-2 run to take a grasp on the game. Taking a 16-point lead into the half, the Bobcats came out with the same fast-paced style. West Virginia State battled to get within six points with under 14 minutes remaining, but a sharpshooting Wesleyan squad continued to pull away.
For the Yellow Jackets, Pat Johnson-Agwu dropped 22 points to go along with six assists. He was complimented by teammate Ernest Jenkins who scored 21 points.
The Bobcats shot 30-of-51 (58 percent) from the field, while going 9-of-19 (47 percent) from three.
West Virginia State would make 27-of-61 (44 percent) and drained 5-of-17 (29 percent) from beyond the arch.
With the victory, Wesleyan rises to 5-17 overall. West Virginia State falls to 12-9 on the year.
Wesleyan will take the court next on February 8th at Urbana.
