Bobcat Golfers Place Fourth in MEC Fall Tournament

WESTONNick West (pictured) shot a tournament best 73 on day two of the Mountain East Conference Fall Tournament to help lead the West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats to a fourth-place finish today on the Palmer Course at the Stonewall Resort.

After shooting an 88 on day one, West fired a tournament low of 73 today to finish 12th overall with a 161.

"On Monday after the first day was over, Nick called me pretty late in the night and asked if I could unlock the golf room so he could hit some balls in the golf simulator," remarked head coach J.D. Lamm. "He was putting in the work late last night. It shows hard work pays off."

Teammates Colin Chapman and Nicholas Casingal both finished tied in 12th place with West.

Chapman shot a 78-83 and Casingal shot a 79-82.

James Snavely finished in a tie for 29th with a 169 (83-86) while Zach Chapman ended up in a tie for 39th with a 180 (96-84).

Wesleyan ended the second day with a total score of 650 (328-322).

West Liberty won the team title with a 636 (316-320) while Charleston was second with a 637 (321-316).

West Liberty's Cory Hoshor won the individual title with a 155 (73-82).

The Bobcats will wrap up their fall season in the three-day MEC Fall Championships starting on Monday at the Glade Springs Resort in Daniels, W. Va.
