Soccer Bobcats Fall in Overtime to Urbana, 2-1

URBANA, Ohio – The West Virginia Wesleyan men's soccer team dropped a 2-1 overtime decision today to the homestanding Urbana Blue Knights in Mountain East Conference action.

The game was scoreless through 80 minutes of action.

Paul Smith gave Wesleyan the lead in the 81st minute when he scored off a ball played by Matthew Bentley.

Urbana tied the game just three minutes later when Thibaut Bourrier scored with the assist going to Jacob Wischmeier.

Bourrier had the game-winner in overtime in the 99th minute.

Urbana had a 19-10 lead in shots and an 8-4 margin in shots-on-goal.

Wesleyan keeper Cooper Zent made six saves in the net.

Fouls were even at 17 apiece. Urbana was given three yellow cards during the match.

Urbana improved to 6-5 overall and 4-3 in the MEC.

Wesleyan fell to 7-4-2 overall and 6-2 in the MEC.

The Bobcats will be back at it next Sunday when they host Concord at 1 p.m.
