BRIDGEPORT -- The field and seedings have been set for the 2017 Mountain East Conference Men's Soccer Tournament.
The University of Charleston claimed the regular season championship and the No. 1 seed in the tournament. The Golden Eagles went 11-0-1 in league play to claim their fourth-straight regular season MEC championship. Charleston has also won each of the league's first four conference tournaments.
West Virginia Wesleyan locked up the No. 2 seed with its win on Saturday. The Bobcats went 8-3-1 in conference play to finish with 25 points.
Urbana and Notre Dame finished in a tie for fourth with 24 conference points, but the Blue Knights earned the No. 3 seed via a tiebreaker.
The semifinal match-ups will be Notre Dame at Charleston and Urbana at West Virginia Wesleyan.
Wesleyan split their season series with Urbana.
They defeated the Blue Knights at home on Sept. 8 by a 3-0 score but dropped a 2-1 overtime decision on the road on Oct. 8.
The semifinals will be played on Wednesday, Nov. 1, at campus sites. Game times for the semifinals will be announced on Monday. The championship will be played on Sunday, Nov. 5, at the home site of the highest remaining seeded team.
