Wesleyan and University of Charleston To Battle in NCAA Tournament

BUCKHANNON -- West Virginia Wesleyan's Men's Soccer team is riding a wave of momentum into the NCAA Tournament after knocking off the University of Charleston, the nation's top ranked team in the Mountain East Conference championship game.

Coach Gavin Donaldson's reward? A return date to face the Golden Eagles on their home field at Charleston's Schoenbaum Stadium. Game time is set for this Saturday at 7:00PM

After three epic matches already this season, the two teams will now lock horns for a fourth time, and this time, on the national stage. Earlier in the season, Charleston defeated the Bobcats 5-3. In Buckhannon, the teams battled to a 0-0 tie, then last week in the MEC title game, the Bobcats prevailed 2-1 in overtime.

Charleston enters the Atlantic Regional as the number one seed, while Wesleyan enters as the four seed. The winner of this contest will face the winner of the 2-3 matchup; East Stroudsburg at West Chester.

"I am proud of our guys for earning the right to be back in this position," Donaldson said. "It is a great opportunity for our program to be back in the tournament."
