Wesleyan and UC set to Battle in NCAA Tournament
West Virginia Wesleyan's men's soccer team open NCAA play this Saturday night, traveling to the University of Charleston to face the host Eagles in Atlantic Region play. Kickoff is set for 7:00 at Schoenbaum Stadium. 
 
Coach Gavin Donaldson's Bobcats enter the contest at 12-5-3, and fresh off defeating the Eagles (16-1-2) in the Mountain East title game. Wesleyan enters the match as the #4 seed, while UC enters as the region's top seed.
 
Wesleyan has scored 51 goals on the campaign (2.55), while giving up only 20 (1.00). The Bobcats are led in scoring by Juwon Akintunde, who led the league with 17 goals. Charleston has outscored their opponents 55-8, and have been the nation's number one team for parts of the season.
 
During the season, the teams evenly split their three contests; Charleston won at home 5-3, the teams battled to a 0-0 overtime draw in Buckhannon, then Wesleyan produced a 2-1 overtime victory in the MEC Championship game.
