Bobcats Open Season at Youngstown State College Invite


YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – West Virginia Wesleyan opened up the year with strong performances across the board. Junior Lauren Crimm set a new school record in the weight throw with a toss of 12.31 meters.


The Watson and Tressel Training Site was packed with talent Friday night. Athletes from over 25 schools put their talents on display.


Wesleyan had a pair of top 20 performances in the 60 meter hurdles from Sophomore Austin Gresser (8.72 seconds) and Freshman Ridge Dalrymple (8.73 seconds). 


Junior Adam Romano posted a personal best time of 9:46 in the 3000 meters.


4x400 Relay team of Sean Fields, Isaiah Robinson, Colin Chapman, and Zach Abott posted a time of 3 minutes 31 seconds to begin the year.


On the women's side, Mykera Days advanced out of the 60-meter dash qualifying rounds with a time of 8.10 seconds. She would better that mark to 8.05 in the Preliminary round.


Freshman Trisanya Mitchell advanced to the finals of the the women's triple jump, placing eighth with a mark of 10.95 meters.


The women's 4x400 relay ran a time of 4 minutes 21 seconds and included Laura Blake, Mykera Days, Zoey Vilasuso, and Natalie Weithe.



The Bobcats will be back on the track this weekend when they travel to Geneva, Ohio to compete at the Spire Invitational.
