'Cats, Lady Cats' Compete at Camel City Invitational

Winston-Salem, NC. -- The Bobcat Track and Field teams headed south to the well-known JDL Fast Track for their third indoor meet of the year. Teams and athletes from all over came to the Camel City Invitational, providing excellent competition for both squads.

Senior Sydney Pineault had the highest individual finish for the Bobcats, placing 8th overall in the Mile with a time of 5 minutes and 10 seconds. 

The trio of Makenzi Niebergall, Mykera Days, and Caylee Painter bolstered the Lady Bobcats sprint group. Niebergall led in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.06 seconds, placing her 34th overall at the meet. Painter ran a time of 27.17 seconds in the 200-meter dash to lead the crew, placing 37th overall.

Junior Aiyana Kachmarek recorded a distance of 11.48 meters in the shotput, earning her a finish of 23rd overall.

For the men, Senior Dylon Rippeto led the Bobcats, finishing 10th overall in the weight throw with a heave of 15 meters. 

Sophomore Austin Gresser raced to a time of 8.76 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles.

Sophomore Adam Fox placed 5th overall in the unseeded division with a vault of 4.10 meters.

Alex Eye and Tim Friend placed 18th and 21st overall in the shotput with throws of 13.69 and 13.57 meters.

The Men assembled a Distance Medley Relay made up of Gresser, Isaiah Robinson, Sean Fields, and Sean Snyder. The team posted a time of 10 minutes and 56 seconds. 

 

The Bobcats will race next at Baldwin Wallace this Friday.
