Men Run 12th at NCAA DII Regional Cross Country Meet

SLIPPERY ROCK (Pa.) – Junior Matt Dearth (pictured) ran a strong 14th place for the West Virginia Wesleyan men's cross country team in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Cross Country Championships here today at Slippery Rock.

In a field of 124 runners, Dearth earned his finish with a time of 33.35.

Wesleyan's Colin Wallace was 44th with a time of 35.11.

Rounding out the Wesleyan roster was Chad Longanacre in 60th (35:50), Ian Frailey in 85th (36:49), Sean Snyder in 89th (37:02) and Marshall Sharp in 99th (37:33).

The individual champion was Lock Haven's Addison Monroe with a time of 32:24.

Shippensburg's Kieran Sutton was second with a clocking of 32:36.

As a team, Wesleyan finished 12th out of 17 teams with 292 points. They were third among six Mountain East Conference teams.

Shippensburg won the team title with 41 points while Lock Haven was second with 63.

Edinboro was third with 72 while the MEC's Concord was fourth with 156 points.

The regional championships wrapped up the 2016 season for the men's team.
