SALEM, Va. – The West Virginia Wesleyan softball team 3-1 on their shortened trip to the Salem Invitational last weekend.

Poor weather forced the cancellation of one day of action and reduced the Lady Bobcats schedule to four games.

Wesleyan started last Friday with a 5-4 setback to Mercyhurst, but then rebounded to demolish USciences by a 15-7 score in five innings and then downed Lock Haven in their third game of the day by a 10-1 score.

On Saturday, they defeated Millersville by a 12-4 score in 10 innings of action.

The action left Wesleyan with a 12-2 record.

Their non-conference doubleheader with Ohio Valley on Tuesday was postponed by the weather.

This weekend's action was also wiped out – a doubleheader with Shepherd on Saturday and Fairmont State on Sunday.

The Shepherd doubleheader will be made up this Monday at 1 p.m.

Following that, the Lady 'Cats will play Alderson-Broaddus Tuesday in a twin bill starting at 3 p.m. and Seton Hill Thursday in a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m.
