Softball Lady 'Cats Move Up to No. 10 in NFCA Poll

LOUISVILLE – Angelo State maintained the No. 1 ranking in this week's NFCA Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll. Receiving 14 first-place votes, the Rambelles (44-4) have now been number one four times this season.

Harding climbed another spot to No. 2 after a crucial four-game Great American Conference sweep of then-No. 7 Southern Arkansas. 

Humboldt grabbed the No. 3 position, while Pfeiffer slipped to No. 4. 

Southern Indiana (38-8) moved to No. 5 from No. 8 after it topped Wisconsin Parkside and Lewis in a pair of Great Lakes Valley Conference doubleheaders.

West Texas A&M stood tall at No. 6 following a Lone Star series win over RV Cameron. 

Cal State Monterey Bay enjoyed a 6-0 week, picking up six CCAA road victories to jump from No. 10 to No. 7. 

Peach Belt regular season champion North Georgia (40-10) grabbed the No. 8 spot following a 5-1 week in league play. Saint Leo (34-10) fell five positions after being swept at home by then-No. 25 Tampa (27-8) in Sunshine State Conference action.

West Virginia Wesleyan (30-6) rounds out the top-10 after going 5-1 in Mountain East Conference competition.

No. 22 Central Oklahoma (38-8) and No. 24 Wayne State (Mich.) (32-10) return to the top-25, while No. 25 West Florida (35-11) makes its first appearance of 2017.

The NFCA Division II Top 25 Poll is voted on by 16 NCAA Division II head coaches with two representing each of the eight NCAA regions. Records reflect games played through Sunday, April 16.
