Gore, Vet Named to World Series All-Tournament Team

SALEM, Va. – West Virginia Wesleyan's Olivia Gore (pictured) and Hannah Vet were named to the 2017 NCAA Division II World Series All-Tournament Team.

Wesleyan won their opener by a 4-0 score over Molloy before dropping a 12-inning marathon 6-5 contest to Angelo State.

They rebounded to defeat West Florida by a 1-0 score before being eliminated by eventual champion Minnesota State-Mankato.

Gore is a senior left fielder from Berryville, Va.

She hit .357 in the tournament (5-for-14) and scored two runs and had six RBIs. Her best game was a multi-hit performance against Molloy were she knocked in three runs.

Vet is a junior pitcher from Naples, Fla.

Vet appeared in all four tournament games and started three. She threw two shutouts including the 4-0 victory over Molloy and the 1-0 nail-biter win over West Florida.

She pitched 20 1/3 innings and allowed 15 hits, four runs, four earned runs, walked three and fanned 10. Her earned-run-average in the World Series was a 1.37 as she went 2-1.

Wesleyan finished third in the nation with a 51-10 record.

Minnesota State-Mankato defeated Angelo State 5-1 to win the World Series title.

Minnesota State-Mankato's pitcher Coley Ries was named the World Series' Most Outstanding Player.
