Wesleyan Comes Home to A Hero's Welcome Sunday Afternoon

BUCKHANNNON – The last phase of West Virginia Wesleyan's journey to the NCAA Division II World Series was the trip home.

Following three days of incredible softball play from the Lady Bobcats, they returned to campus by bus from Salem, Va. to the fountain in front of the Chapel Sunday at 12:30 p.m.

The bus pulled in and as the Lady Bobcats stepped off, they were greeted by about 75 cheering parents, faculty, administration and fans for their performance in the World Series.

Wesleyan won their opener by a 4-0 score over Molloy before dropping a 12-inning marathon 6-5 contest to Angelo State.

They rebounded to defeat West Florida by a 1-0 score before being eliminated by eventual champion Minnesota State-Mankato in a 5-1 contest.

Wesleyan finished third in the nation with a 51-10 record.
