BUCKHANNON – West Virginia Wesleyan veteran head softball coach Steve Warner has announced the dates for his annual softball summer camps.
Two camps will run two simultaneously for two different age groups from Monday, June 12 to Thursday, 15.
For youngsters ages 7-11, their camp will run from 9 a.m. to noon while for ages 12 and up, their camp will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Both camps will take place at the Culpepper Softball Complex.
The cost of both camp is $90 and includes a t-shirt (pre-registration only).
The camp will include hitting concepts drills, defensive work, base running, bunting and pitching instruction.
Campers are instructed to bring a glove, shorts/t-shirt, sweats, tennis shoes, bat/batting gloves, helmet, sunscreen and hat/visor.
The camp is under the direction of West Virginia Wesleyan head coach Steve Warner, who just completed his 25th season with the Lady Bobcats.
Warner took his Lady Bobcat softball team to the 2017 World Series where they finished third in the country with a 51-10 record. Warner also won his 1000th game at the World Series.
Warner has won 22 conference titles in his 25 seasons at the helm of the Lady Bobcat program and has been named conference coach of the year 17 times.
His overall coaching record is 1000-351-1.
He will be joined by his staff of assistant coaches Marissa Leslie, Courtney Radke and Glenville State College head coach Kristen Tunno.
Early registration is encouraged for both camps as spots will fill up very quickly.
