Steve Warner is one of the elite softball coaches in the NCAA Division II ranks. 

He ranks ninth nationally among NCAA Division II coaches in victories. He has compiled a 1000-351-1 record during his 25 years at West Virginia Wesleyan. He won his 1000th game last spring in the NCAA Division II World Series as his team finished third in the nation.

His accomplishments are matched by very few in his profession.

He has been honored as WVIAC/MEC "Coach of the Year" 18 times.

He has coached 18 "Pitchers of the Year."

He has coached 15 "Players of the Year."

He has coached one First Team NFCA All-American (Brooklyn Waddell, 2015)

He has won 18 regular season WVIAC/MEC Championships.

He has won 17 WVIAC/MEC Tournament titles.

He has 17 NCAA Regional appearances.

He has five NCAA Super Regional appearances (2012, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017).

He has one NCAA World Series appearance (2017).

He has coached over 118 all-conference selections.

2008-  Assisted Scot Thomas, Head Coach of Virginia Tech, with Salem All-Star Team which competed against the USA Olympic team.  Had two players, Laura Foster and Emily Niemen, that participated. 

May, 21, 2010- Elected into WV Executive Sports Hall of Fame


The Buckhannon native is married to Terry Warner. The couple has two boys -- Thomas and Jonathan.
