BUCKHANNON - West Virginia Wesleyan Women's Basketball team lost a close game on Wednesday night against Fairmont, 64-63.
Down by one going into halftime, the second half performance by both Wesleyan and Fairmont was even. Both teams scored 15 points in the third and fourth quarter combined. The difference in the nights competition winning by one point was the first half lead by Fairmont up by one.
Leading the Bobcats were Brittany Stawovy scoring 16 points, Mari Stewart with a double-double scoring 14 points and grabbing 12 rebounds, and Stacy Remer scoring 13 points. Tara Goldman also grabbed 10 rebounds.
Fairmont was led by Sierra Kotchman scoring 20 points.
Wesleyan falls to an overall record of 8-20 and an MEC record of 6-15. The Bobcats will compete in their final game of the season on Saturday on their home court against Glenville with a tip off at 2:00.
