Women Third, Men Fifth at MEC Fall Golf Tournament

WESTON – Prior to the Mountain East Conference Championships next week at Glade Springs, the MEC men's and women's teams met today for day one of the MEC Fall Tournament hosted by West Virginia Wesleyan on The Palmer Course at the Stonewall Resort.

On the women's side, the Lady Bobcats are in a tie for third place out of nine teams after shooting a 369.

The University of Charleston went into the clubhouse in first after firing a 356 while Wheeling Jesuit is in second with a 359. UVa.-Wise is tied with Wesleyan in third with a 369.

Wesleyan's Sandra Brink ended day one in a tie for fifth place after shooting an 88.

Kylie Day is in a tie for 15th place with a 93, Becca Davis and Whitney Milhoan are in a tie for 17th with a 94.

Beverly Toothman rounds out the Wesleyan line-up placing in 21st with a 97.

The University of Charleston's Sarah Feizal leads the 44-player field with an 84.

On the men's side, the Bobcats are fifth among 12 teams with a 328.

Shepherd has the team lead after day one with a 315 while West Liberty is second with a 316.

Colin Chapman leads the Bobcats after day one in a tie for fifth place with a 78.

Nicholas Casingal is in ninth with a 79, James Snavely is in a tie for 22nd with an 83, Nick West is in a tie for 33rd with an 88 and Zach Chapman is 47th with a 96.

West Liberty's Cory Hoshor has the day one lead with a 73.

Day two will get underway Tuesday with a 10 a.m. shotgun start
