DANIELS -- West Virginia Wesleyan's women's golf team shot their way into history Wednesday afternoon, finishing as the runner-up team in the Mountain East Conference Championships.
It was the highest finish in program history for the Lady Bobcats
Wesleyan closed the final round with a 333 score, putting them at 1015 for the three-day tournament.
They were just 10 shots behind champion Notre Dame (1005) and 23 shots ahead of third place Wheeling Jesuit (1038).
Sophomore Sandra Brink (pictured) led the way finishing second overall in the event. She fired a final round 77 and closed at 88-77-77-242.
In all, head coach J.D. Lamm's squad put five golfers in the top 17 of the tournament.
Freshman Kylie Day placed eighth (79-89-86-254), junior Becca Davis placed 16th (96-80-88-264), freshmen Whitney Milhoan (91-84-90-265) and Beverly Toothman (95-88-82-265) each finished tied for 17th.
Concord's Natalia Jornet won the individual title with a three-day tally of 226.
The MEC Championship concludes fall play for the Lady Bobcats.
