Urbana, Ohio -- The West Virginia Wesleyan Lacrosse team claimed a road victory, 12-4, at the hands of the Urbana Blue Knights Wednesday evening in a non-conference tilt. The win improves the overall Bobcat record to 5-11 with one homestand remaining Saturday.
Urbana would claim an early 1-0 lead before the 'Cats reeled off four out of the next five goals to lead 4-2. The teams would trade goals before the half and Wesleyan would take the 5-3 lead into intermission.
The Bobcats would really earn the victory with a dominating start to the second half, scoring six straight goals to put the Blue Knights away. Again, the teams would trade goals before the buzzer sounded and Wesleyan would come out on top, 12-4.
Four Bobcat scorers, Jessica Hardman, Emily Noel, Holly Lucke, and Kelly Steen, would share three goals a piece to give Wesleyan their ultimate tally. Goalie Kallie Morgan would successfully stop five of the nine Blue Knight scoring attempts on the day, holding Urbana under 50% shooting for the day.
The Bobcats are home, Saturday, April 26th for their last regular season game verse Notre Dame at Noon at Cebe Ross Field. This will be the last event held at Cebe Ross Field before the new renovations begin.
