BUCKHANNON – A pair of underclassman led the way for the West Virginia Wesleyan women's soccer team on "Senior Day" tonight against the West Liberty University Hilltoppers at Culpepper Stadium.
The Lady Bobcats earned a 2-0 victory in their regular-season finale.
Following a scoreless first half that saw momentum swing to both teams, Wesleyan finally broke the ice in the 77th minute.
Wesleyan put the game away with their second goal in the 85th minute.
Sophomore transfer Audrey Barber (pictured) scored as she put in a shot just a yard out right next to the far post.
Wesleyan had a huge lead in shots, 21-5, and led by a wide margin in shots-on-goal, 10-2.
The Lady Bobcats also owned a 10-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Chelsea Hubner turned away both shots she saw as she recorded her 11th win and her 12th shutout of the season.
West Liberty dropped to 6-7-4 overall and 6-5-4 in the Mountain East Conference. They currently hold the fourth and final play-off spot in the upcoming MEC tournament.
Wesleyan improved to 12-2-3 overall and 11-2-3 in the MEC.
They are now locked into the third seed and will play on the road in the opening round of the tournament.
They will visit either Notre Dame or Charleston.
Tournament pairings will be released Saturday night.
Wesleyan honored its four seniors playing their final regular season game prior to kick-off.
