BUCKHANNON – Two members of the West Virginia Wesleyan Lady Bobcat soccer team were recently honored on the 2016 NSCAA NCAA Division II Women's All-Atlantic Region Teams.
Cooper, a defender from McKeesport, Pa., was named to the All-Atlantic Region First Team while Zetty, a freshman midfielder from Grindstone, Pa., was selected to the All-Atlantic Third Team.
Cooper started all of Wesleyan's 18 games and anchored a defense that posted 13 shutouts and only gave up seven goals.
She also scored two goals from her defender position.
Cooper was recently honored on the All-Mountain East Conference First Team and the D2CCA NCAA Division II Women's Soccer All-Atlantic Region Second Team.
"Cooper is well deserving," remarked head coach Patrick Holguin. "She earned this honor after playing in the shadows of an All-American the last few years. She is a very good defender and becoming a solid leader. She can play at the highest of levels and is a reason why we are so good defensively. We look for more good things from her next year during her senior season."
Zetty also started all 18 games for Wesleyan.
From her midfield position, she tallied two goals and had two assists.
Both of her goals were game-winning goals.
She was recently named to the All-MEC Second Team and the All-MEC Freshman team.
"In my eyes, Zetty is one of the best freshman in the region," stated Holguin. "She is not only a great player but a great person as well. She is very good at attacking and the transition game. She is going to have a very bright future here at Wesleyan."
