LBC Earns MEC Regular-Season Title With Win Over FSU

BUCKHANNON – No. 10 West Virginia Wesleyan was so dominating over the Fairmont State Falcons tonight that the Falcons didn't get one shot off during the Bobcats' 1-0 victory in Mountain East Conference action at Culpepper Stadium.

The win also secured the MEC regular-season championship for the Lady Bobcats as they improved to 14-0-1 overall and a perfect 13-0 in the MEC.

It was the first time this season that Wesleyan did not allow an opponent to get off a shot.

The lone goal of the game came in the fourth minute of action as Marissa Zetty headed in a cross from Natalie Prater.

Wesleyan made the goal stand up as they never faced a serious attack from Fairmont State.

The differential in shots was a 23-0 margin and the shot-on-goal went to Wesleyan by a 13-0 margin.

Ashlee Schumacher and Chelsea Hubner split time in goal for the Lady Bobcats.

Schumacher played the first half while Hubner saw all 45 minutes of action in the second half.

Fairmont State was guilty of 12 fouls while Wesleyan was called for 10.

Fairmont State dropped to 4-5-6 overall and 3-5-6 in the MEC.
