SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – They say all good things must come to an end and they did today for the No. 10 West Virginia Wesleyan Lady Bobcats in their Mountain East Conference road battle against the Notre Dame Falcons.
Notre Dame ended Wesleyan's 14-game unbeaten streak with a 2-0 win.
Janelle Bernal scored an unassisted goal in the 29th minute to give Notre Dame a 1-0 lead.
Notre Dame added an insurance goal at the start of the second half when Jackie Corrigan put in a rebound in the 46th minute.
Notre Dame owned an 11-7 margin in shots while shots-on-goals were even at five apiece.
Notre Dame held a 3-2 lead in corner kicks.
The win propelled Notre Dame to 11-3-2 overall and 11-2-2 in the MEC.
Wesleyan is now 14-1-1 overall and 13-1 in the MEC.
The Lady Bobcats have two regular-season games remaining.
They will host the University of Charleston Wednesday on Senior Day at 5 p.m. and then close out the regular season Saturday at Wheeling Jesuit at 4 p.m.
