BUCKHANNON – The West Virginia Wesleyan women's tennis team, ranked ninth in the Atlantic Region, had a tough go of it this past weekend in a pair of matches.
On Saturday, playing inside at Morgantown against Edinboro, they dropped a 5-1 decision.
Then on Sunday at the tennis complex, they dropped a 9-0 verdict to the No. 46 ranked Mercyhurst Lakers.
The action left Wesleyan with a 9-5 record.
Earning the lone win against Edinboto was Rebekka Heigermoser at No. 2 doubles.
She beat Julia Hellstern, 7-5, 6-2.
They will return to action Thursday at Indiana (Pa.) for a 3:30 p.m. outing.
They will stay on the road Friday when they battle California (Pa.) for a 2 p.m. clash.
