Wesleyan Volleyball Falls in MEC Play

Coach Nancy Wheeler's West Virginia Wesleyan volleyball team saw heir season come to a close Thursday night, falling to the top seed Wheeling Jesuit Cardinals in the Mountain East Conference Tournament. The match ended in straight sets; 25-12, 25-11, 25-14.

 
Freshman Madison Cooper led the offense with seven kills, followed by Ebonie Hicks and Leah Blend with six each. Setter Katlyn Buckland posted 25 assists, with Alexis McCollum delivering a team high seven digs. Hicks recorded two of the team's three blocks.
 
Wesleyan closes their season 12-20. Wheeling went on to win the tournament and will move on to regional play with a 31-5 record.
 
Wheeler led Wesleyan back to the tournament for the first time since 2015. With most of her rotation returning for 2018, the future looks bright for the young Bobcats.
