BRIDGEPORT -- West Virginia Wesleyan has been picked by a vote of the league coaches to win its fourth Mountain East Conference women's cross country championship.
The Lady Bobcats finished atop the poll with 98 points and collected eight first-place votes. WVWC brings back all five runners who placed in the top 10 at last year's championship on its way to the championship.
Wheeling Jesuit was second in the poll with 93 points and earned three first-place votes. The Cardinals have finished second at the conference championship in each of the last three years.
Concord was third with 77 points, followed by Fairmont State (66), Charleston (64), Notre Dame (54) and UVa-Wise (40). Glenville State (35), Urbana (34), West Liberty (34) and West Virginia State (10) round out the poll.
The 2015 MEC men's and women's cross country championships will be held Sat., Oct. 22, at the Bridgeport Recreation Complex.
