BUCKHANNON, W.Va. -- The West Virginia Wesleyan men's basketball team welcomes #11 West Liberty to the Rockefeller Center on Sunday afternoon.
West Liberty leads the conference, averaging 102.5 points per game. The Hilltoppers average over 13 steals and a turnover margin of +7.5 per game, both tops in the WVIAC. WLU leads the league in offensive rebounds per game (17.4) and threes made per contest (10.9). West Liberty Head Coach Jim Crutchfield is 9-1 against the Bobcats, including winning the last four meetings between the two schools.
The Bobcats allow a league-low 69.2 points per contest. Wesleyan leads the league in assist to turnover ratio (1.8). Colby Wohlleb leads the conference in three point percentage at 70.6 (12-of-17).
The Hilltoppers are 7-1 on the year, 4-0 in the WVIAC and on a five-game winning streak. WLU has won 45 consecutive regular season conference games. The Hilltoppers have seven players averaging double figures led by Wheeling Jesuit transfer Cedric Harris' 18.5 points per contest. The Toppers are coming off a 138-92 victory over Point Park, last Sunday. West Liberty set a school record with 110 shots in the game.
WVWC enters Sunday's contest 3-2 on the year, 2-2 in the league and have won two in a row. The Bobcats are led by California (Pa.) transfer Kelsey Williams—who, in two games this season, is averaging a double-double with 19 points and 10.5 rebounds. Raymont McElroy also adds 19 points a night and leads the team in free throw percentage (85% 17-of-20). Since becoming a starter, T.J. Thompson has averaged 15.6 points per contest and is making 53% (17-of-32) of his field goal attempts.
Admission to Sunday's contest is $5 for adults, $3 for children 6-12, and children under six are free. Tip-off is set for 4:00 p.m.
