BUCKHANNON, W.Va.- After a grueling five game match the West Virginia Wesleyan women's volleyball team lost their first conference game of regular season this evening against the visiting Lady Griffins of Seton Hill University.

The Lady Bobcats went into the match up with an overall record of 9-5 and 2-0 in the conference. The Lady Griffins entered the match with an overall record of 9-6 and a 0-1 record in the conference.

Wesleyan started the match off, taking the first game 25-23. Seton Hill rallied for the win in game two, 22-25. Fighting back, the Bobcats won the next game 29-27, however, came up just short in game four and five, losing 21-25 and 12-15.

Leading the Bobcats in the front row was outside hitter, Paula Renteria (pictured), with 24 total kills for the night with 6 errors. Also, pitching in was freshman, Erin Bond, with 12 kills with 4 errors. Bond also tallied 3 block solos and 1 block assists.

Dominating the blocking for Wesleyan was sophomore, Korin Wengryn, with a total of 3 block solos and 2 block assists. In addition Wengryn noted a total of 10 kills for the night.

Junior libero, Renata Comparini, lead the back court, recording a team high of 25 digs for the Bobcats. Senior, Jessica Pattyin, also contributed with 21 total digs for the night.

The Bobcats now advance to 2-1 in the conference and are next in action tomorrow, hosting a tri match with both Fairmont State and Point Park University. First game is scheduled for 11 p.m. When Wesleyan plays Fairmont.
