GREENSBURG, Pa. - West Virginia Wesleyan racked up 559 yards of total offense on their way to a 34-10 victory over Seton Hill on Saturday afternoon.
Adam Neugebauer completed 35-of-48 passes for 427 yards with a pair of touchdowns and one interception and a rushing touchdown. Jon Meadows hauled in 11 passes for 124 yards with one touchdown, T.J. Benners added five receptions for 115 yards and one score. Christian Smith added 101 yards on 13 carries with one touchdown. Jonas Celian (pictured) led the Bobcats defense with 16 tackles including 2.5 sacks.
Seton Hill quarterback Ryan Morris finished the day 16-of-34 with 190 yards and one interception. Daniel Butler gained 51 yards on 19 carries. Sean Randall caught three passes for 65 yards. Nick McGahagan led the SHU defense with 10 tackles, one sack and one forced fumble.
West Virginia Wesleyan got on the board with their first possession of the game when Keith Dickens scored from nine yards out to make it 7-0. Neugebauer connected with Meadows later in the quarter from 19 yards away to extend the lead to 13-0. Seton Hill got a 30 yard field goal from Josh Cavalier to cut the deficit to 13-3. The Griffins added a touchdown in the second quarter when Calvin Mason scooped up a Bobcat fumble and scampered 40 yards for a touchdown to make it 13-10 at the half.
The Bobcats got a touchdown early in the third when Neugebauer plunged in from a yard out to make it 20-10. Later in the quarter, Neugebauer found Benners in the end zone and increased their lead to 27-10. Smith added the game's final tally from 10 yards out to set the final margin at 34-10.
The Bobcats return to action next Saturday as they travel to CIAA member Lincoln (PA) at 1 p.m.
