West Virginia Wesleyan women's volleyball hosted a tri-match this afternoon, hosting both Fairmont State University and Point Park University on their home court in Rockefeller Arena.

The Lady Bobcats started the day off with a match against Fairmont State. Fairmont and Point Park then took on each other. And then the day ended with a match against the Bobcats and Point Park.

Wesleyan took the game against Fairmont State in three, winning game one 25-17, game two 25-21, and game three 25-14.

Senior, Jessica Pattyn, stood out in the front row for the Bobcats, recording a team high of 15 kills for the match with only 2 errors on 23 total attempts. Paula Renteria and Erin Bond also chipped in with 10 kills apiece. Bond also noted 4 block assists in the match.

Leading in the back row for the Bobcats was junior, Renata Comparini, with a total of 11 digs.

Despite the strong start to the day, Wesleyan finished the tri-match losing to Point Park University in 4 games. The Bobcats lost game one 25-20, then fought back to grab the win in game two 25-22, and then lost the next two, 26-24 and 25-16.

Showing strong performances in the front row for Wesleyan were Stephanie Bruggeman and Camblin Leonard. Bruggeman collected a total of 10 kills with 2 errors. Leonard had 8 kills with 1 error. Bruggeman also recorded 3 block assists for the match.

Comparini also managed the back row in game two with a total of 22 digs for the Bobcats.

Doing the setting for Wesleyan in both matches of the day was sophomore, Casey Pattyn. C. Pattyn tallied 49 assists in game one and 37 in game two.

The Lady Bobcats now advance to an overall record of 10-7 and are next in action September 28th on the home court against the University of Charleston. Game time is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.
