Adam Neugebauer tossed six first half touchdowns, and the WVWC defense limited Millersville to 130 yards of total offense on their way to a 55-3 victory Saturday afternoon at Ross Field.
Neugebauer was 23-of-34 with 335 yards. T.J. Benners (pictured) caught six passes for 149 yards and two scores, including a school record 96-yard touchdown, while Jon Meadows hauled in eight passes for 97 yards. Keith Dickens led the Bobcat ground attack with 104 yards on 12 carries with one touchdown. Jonas Celian finished with a team-high nine tackles including 1.5 sacks
West Virginia Wesleyan looked in mid-season form early as Neugebauer hooked up with Benners from 19 yards out to put WVWC on top 7-0. After a Millersville punt, Neugebauer connected with a streaking Benners from 96 yards away to make it 14-0. Later in the quarter, Neugebauer found Aaron Lewis from 26 yards away to make it 21-0.
In the second quarter, Neugebauer hit Brandon Hoffman for another Bobcat touchdown making it 28-0. After a Marauder field goal, Neugebauer led the Wesleyan offense on a drive culminating in a touchdown reception for Conner Anderson. Neugebauer's final strike was a four-yard touchdown to Stephen Campbell late in the first half.
The third quarter saw the defense get on the scoreboard when Jeremy Dozier picked off a deflected pass and rumbled 66 yards for a touchdown. Dickens added the Bobcats' final touchdown with a plunge in from a yard out to set the final margin at 55-3.
The Bobcats travel to Bentley (MA) next Saturday at noon, and will return to Ross Field on September 17 against West Liberty.
