BUCKHANNON, W.Va— Wesleyan jumped out to a 22-2 lead in the first half and never looked back on their way to a 76-56 win over the Griffins on Thursday night.
Kelsey Williams spring boarded the Bobcats to a 41 -18 halftime lead over the Griffins. Williams nearly reached a first half double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds.
The Bobcats had a trio of scorers in double figures—including Reggie Chambers (18), Travis Johnson (11) and Williams, who finished with a double-double (21,14).
Seton Hill's Matt Miller and Oliver McGlade finished in double figures for the Griffins with, 17 and 10 points, respectively.
West Virginia Wesleyan dominated the boards in the first half with 27 rebounds to Seton Hill's 10. The Bobcats also owned the hoop, sinking 50 percent (15-of-30) of their shots from the floor.
The Griffins' 38 second half points were not enough to boost them past the Bobcats, who added 35 points of their own and 19 rebounds. The Bobcats finished the night with a decisive 76-56 victory over the visiting Griffins.
Wesleyan is now 7-5 overall and 3-5 in WVIAC play. The Bobcats travel to Seton Hill and West Liberty for a pair of conference matchups before returning home on Monday, January 23, to take on the Fairmont State Fighting Falcons. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
