BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – West Virginia Wesleyan used an 18-6 run in the second half to down Davis & Elkins 76-65, on Saturday.
Colby Wohlleb scored 16 of his 19 points in the first half to lead the Bobcats. Kelsey Williams registered a double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds. Raymont McElroy (18) and Reggie Chambers (14) also finished in double figures.
D'Quan Lynch (19), Ian Pinckney (12), Malik Tinsley, (11) P.J. Turner (11) and Mile Ivanic (10) all tallied double figures for the Senators.
The first half was back and forth until a 10-0 run by the Bobcats made the score 27-18, Wohlleb contributed eight of the 10 points. The Senators answered with a 10-2 sprint to go to the break trailing 29-28.
The Senators held a slight 18-14 rebounding advantage. D&E hit on 10-of-28 shots (36 percent, while the Bobcats made 11-of-22 (50 percent). Davis & Elkins kept the game close--sinking 7-of-8 free throw attempts, compared to Wesleyan making just 4-of-10.
Wesleyan broke a 46-46 tie in the second half with an 18-6 run to go in front 64-52, Chambers ignited the run with seven points.
Wesleyan improves to 11-6 overall and 7-6 in WVIAC play. The Bobcats head to Athens to battle Concord on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
