SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va.— Sidney McCray sank eight threes to lead Shepherd to a 70-65 win over Wesleyan on Monday night.
Raymont McElroy and Kelsey Williams each netted 21 points.
McCray notched a game high 26 points. Chad Moore (15) and Brantley Osborne (11) also finished in double figures for the Rams.
The Bobcats made 11-of-23 attempts at the free-throw line. Shepherd dominated the glass by a 41-27 margin. SU hit on 10-of-17 attempts from beyond the arc, while WVWC made 4-of-18.
West Virginia Wesleyan held a 25-15 lead midway through the first half, the Rams answered with a 17-4 sprint to take a 32-29 lead. The Bobcats scored the final five points of the half to take a 34-32 lead to the break.
The second half was back and forth until a McCray three put the Rams in front for good at 54-52, with just over eight minutes to play.
The Bobcats fall to 6-5 and 2-5 in conference play. Wesleyan returns to the Rockefeller Center on Thursday against Seton Hill at 7:30 p.m.
