BUCKHANNON, W.Va. —Jonas Jackson has resigned as head football coach at West Virginia Wesleyan College. Jackson has served as the Bobcats head coach for the past two seasons.
"We are grateful for the contributions Jonas has provided to our program for the past four years,"said West Virginia Wesleyan Athletic Director, Randy Tenney. "We wish him well in his future careerendeavors."
Jackson joined Wesleyan's coaching staff in 2009 as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. He became the head coach in 2011 when Denny Creehan left Wesleyan to become athletic directorand head football coach at Alderson-Broaddus College. Jackson led the Bobcats to a 9-2 record and anational ranking in 2011 and to a 3-8 record in 2012.
In his two seasons in Buckhannon, the football team set 29 new school records.
Wesleyan will begin a search for a new head football coach immediately.
