Box Score BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – West Virginia Wesleyan shot nearly 60 percent from the field in the second half on its way to a 60-52 win over Alderson-Broaddus.
The Lady Bobcats were led by 12 points apiece from Brittany Williams (10 in the second half) and Atavia Blake. Kacey Johnson came off the bench with 10 points. Danesha Richardson pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds and Brittany Maxey dished out a career-high seven assists.
Alderson-Broaddus was led by Amanda Peoples who scored 13 points. Cayla Rhodes added 11.
The difference in the game was bench points, Wesleyan racked up 22 to A-B's eight.
Neither team led by more than five in the first half, as Wesleyan was able to take a 25-22 lead into the locker room.
The Lady Bobcats broke a 34-34 tie with a 16-2 run in the second half to take a 50-36 lead. Williams scored 10 of the 16 points. The Battlers got within six, but struggled to rebound down the stretch as Wesleyan came away with the 60-52 win.
Wesleyan heads to Glenville State on Saturday at 2 p.m.
