BUCKHANNON, W.Va.— Raymont McElroy rained down 41 points to lead Wesleyan past Shepherd, 83-64 on Saturday.
McElroy (41) and Kelsey Williams (15) tallied double figures for the Bobcats. Williams also pulled down 10 rebounds to tack on the double-double.
Chad Moore registered a double-double on the day (21 points, 10 rebounds), while Brantley Osbourne (16) and Marcus Pilgrim (12) put up double figures for Shepherd.
West Virginia Wesleyan jumped out to a 20-10 lead in the first half; McElroy scored 14 of the initial 20 points. The Bobcats took a 34-21 lead to the break. WVWC hit five blasts from the three point line in the first half, compared to only one triple by the Rams. McElroy scored 19 points in the opening 20 minutes.
The Bobcats would push their advantage to as many as 27 points in the second half before notching the 83-64 win.
With the victory, the Bobcats move to 15-6 overall and 11-6 in league play. Wesleyan travels to Wheeling Jesuit on Monday at 7:30.
