Box Score WHEELING, W.Va. – West Virginia Wesleyan picked up a key conference road victory over Wheeling Jesuit on Monday by a score of 71-56.
Daria Abros'kina registered a double-double for the Lady Bobcats, producing game-highs in rebounds (11) and assists (10). Lydia Bridenbaugh and Jamie Kauffman each tallied 18 points on the night, while Brittany Maxey rounded out the trio of double figure scorers, adding 12 points.
In double digits for Wheeling Jesuit was Emily Robinson, who netted 17 points.
WVWC grabbed an early 6-5 lead, and remained ahead through the remaining 17 minutes of the first half. Wesleyan took a seven point advantage to the locker room, leading 35-28.
The Lady Bobcats hit the accelerator immediately in the second half; they would push the advantage to as many as 18, and rolled to the 71-56 win.
Wesleyan improves to 16-6 and 12-4 in league play. The Lady Bobcats travel to Alderson-Broaddus on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
