Lady Bobcats Top A-B, 69-59

PHILIPPI, W.Va. – West Virginia Wesleyan exploded to a 40-25 halftime lead on its way to a 69-59 win over Alderson-Broaddus on Thursday.

Lydia Bridenbaugh lead all scorers with 24 points. Jamie Kaufman added 10 points for Wesleyan.

Natalie Smith (13) and Zipporah Tidwell (12) tallied double figures for the Lady Battlers.

The Lady Bobcats raced to a 20-7 lead to open the game; Bridenbaugh netted eight points to ignite the run. The Lady Bobcats would lead by as many as 20 in the first half, going to the locker room with a 40-25 lead.

WVWC pushed its advantage to 25 in the second half. A-B held Wesleyan without a field goal the final 10 minutes of the game and scored 23 of the night's final 31 points, but it was too little ,too late, as Wesleyan came away with the 69-59 win.

Wesleyan is now 17-6 overall and 15-4 in WVIAC play. The Lady Bobcats travel to Davis & Elkins on Saturday at 2 p.m.
