Box Score BUCKHANNON, W.Va.— West Virginia Wesleyan used a 21-0 first half run to down West Liberty 85-73 on Monday.
Lydia Bridenbaugh (27), Jamie Kaufman (22) and Brittany Maxey (16) all registered double figures for the Lady Bobcats.
Kayla Ayers led all scorers with 41 points, sinking 13 threes for West Liberty. Hillary Southworth added 13 points.
West Liberty jumped out to a 17-13 lead in the first 20 minutes, Ayers buried three bombs from beyond the arc during the run. Wesleyan reeled off the next 21 points to go in front 34-17, and would go to the locker room with a 44-30 advantage.
Ayers drained seven of West Liberty's eight first-half threes. Wesleyan converted 15 Hilltoppers' turnovers in 24 points on the offensive end in the first 20 minutes.
Wesleyan would maintain a double digit lead throughout the second half on its to the 85-73 victory.
Wesleyan improves to 19-6 overall and 16-4 in league play. The Lady Bobcats are back in action at home on Wednesday against the University of Pitt-Johnstown. The game is set to begin at 5:30 p.m.
