Box Score FAIRMONT, W.Va. – West Virginia Wesleyan won its second WVIAC regular season title in three years with an 80-65 win over Fairmont State on Saturday.
Jamie Kaufman (23), Daria Abros'kina (19), and Lydia Bridenbaugh (18) all registered double figures for Wesleyan.

Fairmont State raced out to a 9-2 lead in the first half; Snyder and Garrett combined for all nine points. The Lady Bobcats knotted the game at 14-14 with a 12-5 sprint, keyed by a traditional three point play from Kaufman. FSU used a 10-2 run later in the half to grab a 32-25 lead; Garrett contributed six of the 10 points. Wesleyan answered with a 8-0 jolt to grab a brief 33-32 lead; Kaufman and Bridenbaugh registered all eight points. Garrett slipped past the defense for a lay-up and Snyder stole the ensuing inbound pass, sinking a jumper at the buzzer to give the Lady Falcons a 36-33 lead at the break.
Garrett hit on 7-of-9 shots in the first 20 minutes to tally 15 points. Kaufman kept the Lady Bobcats close with 11 points. Wesleyan held a 21-14 advantage on the glass in the first half.
Wesleyan went on a 12-2 run early in the second half to gain a 48-44 lead; Bridenbaugh buried a pair of threes during the run. The Lady Bobcats scored 26 of the game's final 38 points to claim the 80-65 victory and the WVIAC title.
With the win Wesleyan is now 21-6 overall and 18-4 in league play. By virtue of winning the regular season title, the Lady Bobcats have clinched a bye in the first round of next week's WVIAC Tournament.
