Box Score BUCKHANNON, W.Va. --West Virginia Wesleyan welcomes the Fighting Scots from Ohio Valley to the Rockefeller Center on Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Bobcats enter Saturday's contest riding a four-game win streak. Wesleyan is 13-5 on the year and 10-3 in league play. WVWC downed Concord 76-74, Wednesday night on Lydia Bridenbaugh's lay-up with less than one second left. Bridenbaugh is averaging a league-best 22.1 points per contest. Jamie Kaufman adds 19.9 points and 8.5 rebounds. Brittany Maxey is averaging 14 points and 10.5 rebounds over the last two games.
OVU is on a three-game slide, and enters Saturday's game with an overall record of 10-11 and 6-9 in WVIAC play. Amber Avery and Shante Cummings each average 14.3 points per contest for Ohio Valley. Shelby Way (12.2) and Dakeisha Mann (11.1) add double figures to the Fighting Scot offensive attack.
The Wesleyan men have won six of their last seven contests, and haven't lost at home since December 11 (5-0). WVWC is 12-6 on the year and 8-6 in conference games. The Bobcats are coming off a 74-65 win over Concord on Wednesday. Wesleyan leads the league in scoring and field goal percentage defense allowing 65 points and 41 percent shooting per game. Kelsey Williams leads the Bobcats with 18.9 points and a league-high 10 rebounds per game. Raymont McElroy (17.1) and Reggie Chambers (12.8) also average double figures for Wesleyan. Colby Wohlleb is averaging 13 points and 5.3 rebounds over the last four games (4-0).
Ohio Valley has lost four of its last five games and are 2-6 on the road this season. The Fighting Scots are 6-12 overall and 6-9 in conference play. OVU is coming off a 105-65 setback against Charleston on Wednesday. The Fighting Scots are last in the WVIAC in rebounding margin at -12.5. Kendall Allison (16.8), Austin Cunningham (15.4) and Rodney Everage (11.3) all score in double figures for OVU. Everage leads the league in blocked shots at over three per contest.
Saturday will be Stockhart Youth Basketball Day at the Rockefeller Center.
Admission to Saturday's contest is $5 for adults, $3 for children 6-12, and children under six are free. Tip-off for the women's game is set for 2 p.m. with the men's game to follow at 4.
