CHARLESTON, W.Va.— West Virginia Wesleyan held Alderson-Broaddus to just six made field goals in the second half on its way to a 56-40 win on Thursday evening.
Raymont McElroy (21) and Reggie Chambers (14) scored in double figures for Wesleyan.
Kurklin Bohanon registered 14 points for the Battlers.
Alderson-Broaddus jumped out to a 16-9 lead in the first half; the quick start was aided by five Bobcat turnovers. Wesleyan went on a 13-2 run from there to grab a 22-18 lead; the Bobcats buried a trio of bombs from beyond the arc during the run. A-B scored the final four points of the half to knot the game at 22-22 going into the break maybe.
The first half was plagued by turnovers on both sides, as the Bobcats committed eightwhile the Battlers committed 10.
Wesleyan opened the second half with a 13-4 sprint to push their advantage to 35-26; McElroy ignited the run with a pair of threes. Wesleyan buried A-B with a 15-4 jolt later in the half, extending the lead to 54-37; McElroy drained back to back threes during the run. The Bobcats rolled to the 56-40 victory.
The Bobcats improve to 21-7 on the year. Wesleyan will face the winner between West Liberty and Shepherd on Friday at 8:30 p.m.
