Box Score 2 BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – The Bobcats' softball team ran its win streak to seven games with a pair of victories over West Liberty on Sunday. Wesleyan won game one, 1-0 and rolled to a 10-0 victory in game two.
In game one, Kaitlyn Carey's RBI single in the sixth made the difference as the Bobcats claimed a 1-0 win.
Hillary Perez-Ashley (11-3) hurled the complete game, scattering five hits while striking out 11.
In game two, Nicole Friedemann put Wesleyan in front 2-0 with a two-RBI double in the second. Brittanie Gloyd added a three-RBI double later in the inning to push the lead to 5-0. Gloyd added two more RBI in the fourth with a single. Jacqui Omichinski drove in a pair with a double, and later scored on a single by Kelli McCullough to set the 10-0 margin.
Carey (7-3) tossed the five inning shutout, allowing five hits, with five strike outs and two walks.
The Bobcats are now 30-10 on the year and 15-3 in league play. Wesleyan closes out its home schedule on Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m. against Davis & Elkins.
