Box Score 2 BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – Third time is the charm as mother nature allowed West Virginia Wesleyan to pick up a pair of victories over Davis & Elkins. The Bobcats took game one, 8-1 and claimed a X-X victory in the nightcap.
In game one, Breanna Taylor opened the scoring with an RBI double in the second. Alex Furr added an RBI single and Wesleyan scored one on a Senator error to make the score 3-0 after two innings. D&E scored a run on a wild pitch in the third to trim the deficit to 3-1. Jacqui Omichinski drove in a run with a single in the third to push the lead to 4-1. Paige Cummings, Kaitlyn Carey and Omichinski each recorded RBI singles in the fourth, and a Davis & Elkins error scored a run to make the score 8-1, which would be the final score.
Hillary Perez-Ashley (12-3) worked the complete game, allowing one run on three hits while striking out 11.
Wesleyan has now won nine games in a row to improve its record to 32-10, and 17-3 in league play. The Bobcats travel to Alderson-Broaddus on Friday, before finishing up the regular season on Saturday at Fairmont State.
