BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – West Virginia Wesleyan and West Virginia State split a pair of pitcher's duels on Friday evening. The Yellow Jackets took game one, 3-2 while the Bobcats took game two, 1-0.

In game one, West Virginia State got an RBI single in the first and a two-run homer in the third to take a 3-0 lead. Brittanie Gloyd put Wesleyan on the scoreboard in the bottom of the third with a two-run blast to center--the first of her career--to trim the deficit to 3-2. The Bobcats would be held in check from there, as WVSU came away with the 3-2 victory.

Jacqui Omichinski (10-4) was saddled with the loss, giving up three runs on seven hits with five strikeouts.

In game two, a Yellow Jacket error led to an RBI single by Kaitlyn Carey in the fourth and the Bobcats would go on to take the 1-0 win.

Hillary Perez-Ashley (8-3) worked the complete game, giving up just one hit and striking out four.

The Bobcats are now 24-10 overall and 9-3 in league play. Wesleyan hosts WVIAC leader Charleston on Saturday at 2 p.m.
