BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – Aaron Adams tossed eight scoreless innings to lead West Virginia Wesleyan to a 6-0 victory over Bluefield State on Friday evening.
Adams (6-2) allowed just three hits, while striking out six and walking a pair. Nick Benges pitched one scoreless inning, walking one.
In the first, Gene Franks drove in a run with a double to put Wesleyan on top 1-0. Aaron Wiegel's RBI double in the third made the score 3-0. Mark Darlington added an RBI single in the fifth, and Cory Flickinger plated a pair with a double in the sixth to set the 6-0 margin.
Wesleyan has now won eight straight games, rising to 17-12 overall and 12-4 in WVIAC play. The Bobcats and Blues will wrap up their weekend series on Saturday afternoon with a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
