INSTITUTE, W.Va. – The Lady Bobcats picked up their second straight win with a 57-51 victory over West Virginia State on Monday evening.

Allie Browne paced the Bobcats with 14 points, including sinking 4-of-7 shots from beyond the arc. Atavia Blake added a double-double (13 points, 12 rebounds), while Danesha Richardson pulled down a career-high 14 rebounds and handed out five assists.

The Yellow Jackets were led by 22 points from Jasmine Blanton. Maria Femia added 10 points for WVSU.

Wesleyan controlled the glass, pulling down 57 rebounds to the Jackets' 40.  The Lady Bobcats limited State to 29 percent (18-of-63) shooting from the field.

The Bobcats and Jackets battled back and forth through the first 10 minutes of the half as West Virginia State grabbed a slim 14-13 advantage. The rest of the half belonged to WVWC as they outscored state 23-7 to take a 39-21 lead into the locker room. Browne buried all four of her three pointers during the Bobcats' surge.

Wesleyan extended the lead to 22 at 45-23 early in the second half. State battled back to get within six, but time worked in Wesleyan's favor as they came away victorious, 57-51.

The Lady Bobcats host Pitt.-Johnstown on Thursday evening at 5:30 p.m.
